Fundraising Programs
The operations and programs of the IH PTSA rely on revenue from a
variety of sources but to keep things simple, most fundraising is done through
our annual Pass the Hat campaign. To date, more than $26,000 has
been raised. A big round of thanks and applause for all Pass the Hat
contributors. Contributions to Pass the Hat are tax-deductible.
See below for a full explanation of how special funds were distributed last
year at both IHS and PCFC. Careful and targeted spending last spring
allowed for some truly exciting advancement in our classrooms but also left the
PTSA coffers in need of replenishment. Please consider giving to this
most easy of fundraisers. $40 per family is the suggested amount.
A $480 check from the Issaquah Press and $180 check from Swerve were
received and deposited in November.

August 2007
Dear IHS and PCFC Families,
The
Pass the
Hat fundraiser is Issaquah High’s only PTSA fundraiser for the year and involves
no commercial product sales. PTSA
depends solely on these contributions to fund our annual operations budget and the many programs we provide for our students
at IHS and PCFC, items not
afforded through building
budget. When approving grant requests
from IHS & PCFC students and
staff, the PTSA Board of Directors deliberates carefully on the costs of a
request, how a request matches PTSA goals and mission and finally by a majority
vote. During the 2006/2007 school year the IHS PTSA was able to fund over $30,000.00 worth of grant requests.
The following are a few examples of approved special requests during the 2006/2007 school year:

The
Pass the
Hat fundraiser is held during summer registration in
August with donations accepted throughout the school year. Numerous families contribute annually and we
thank them, since PTSA membership dues are not a source of PTSA operating funds.
We anticipate many more grant requests over the course of the school year and have no more carryover funds from previous campaigns to use. If you can contribute to the Pass the Hat fund it would be
greatly appreciated. We are suggesting a
$40 contribution
per family, but whatever you can donate will be gratefully accepted. The IHS PTSA is a non-profit 501(c) 3
organization and contributions are tax deductible. Just fill out the Pass the Hat
form
and bring it with you to summer registration or mail it to IHS PTSA;
If your employer provides matching funds, the Pass
the Hat fundraiser is an eligible program and we are happy to help
complete the necessary paperwork. Please
check with your employer.
