Issaquah High PTSA
Scholarship
The Issaquah
High PTSA encourages students to continue their education after
graduation. Any student applying for the
PTSA Scholarship must be in good standing at IHS and demonstrate a commitment
to furthering their education.
The IH PTSA will award a scholarship of $500 each to six graduating seniors.
Purpose
The purpose of
this scholarship is to reach students who have demonstrated noteworthy
achievements while attending Issaquah High School.
Eligibility
Any student
currently enrolled at IHS who will attend a recognized vocational training
institute, community college, college, or university during the school year
immediately following high school graduation will be considered.
Criteria
The PTSA
Scholarship Committee will assess the following when evaluating the
applications: Academic achievements,
activities, essay writing and/or unique individual pursuits.
To Apply….
Download and complete the application
which involves:
·
introducing
yourself as a high school student and explaining your future educational/vocational
goals
·
providing
a current copy of your transcript
·
providing
a recommendation from one
or two teachers, club/activity advisors, or school counselors
·
submitting an interesting essay of your choice not to exceed 3 double-space pages.
This could be a copy of
your college entrance essay, a recent high school English composition, or a new
creation of your choice
The deadline
to submit the scholarship application is April 16, 2010.
While
GPA will be considered, it will not be paramount in the selection process. Quality of class selection and overall
performance will be given more consideration. Number of years enrolled at IHS
will also be considered.
