VOICE - Volunteers of Issaquah Changing Education: VOICE volunteers work in school as one-on-one mentors with students just one hour per week. Students are referred for need of a mentor by school teachers and counselors. VOICE volunteers are carefully matched with the students and become positive, dependable role models and another caring adult in the life of the student. VOICE mentors partner with school staff to support students academically and socially. Mentors help foster social skills and motivate students' desire to be lifelong learners. One hour a week can make all the difference in the world to a struggling student. [ISF]
